The Kern County portion 
of the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District

The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD) includes the entire counties of San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Merced, Madera, Fresno, Tulare and Kings and part of Kern County. The portion of Kern County in the SJVAPCD straddles the Sierra Nevada and Tehachapi mountains.

The Kern County portion of the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District is referred to by many different names. Some of these names are the San Joaquin Valley portion of Kern County, the San Joaquin Valley Air Basin portion of Kern County, the Valley portion of Kern County and the District portion of Kern County.
