What are criteria pollutants? Scientists have established specific levels of each of 6 common air pollutants which are dangerous to our health and welfare.

In order to protect us, levels of these criteria pollutants are monitored and strictly regulated. 4 of the 6 are directly produced by burning! Burning either fossil fuels (coal, oil or natural gas) or wood causes air pollution which has devastating effects on our lungs and our environment.
