Ozone Damages Crops
Ozone attacks leaves causing them to turn yellow, develop dead
spots and drop off early. Even low-level ozone over a long time reduces a
plant's growth and the amount of fruit it produces. It also, makes plants more
vulnerable to disease and insect attack. Ozone causes over $300,000,000 a year
in crop damage (90% of that damage happens in the San Joaquin Valley).
