California Hybrid and Efficient Advanced Truck (CalHEAT) Research center unveiled its Technology Roadmap at the CalHEAT Forum on February 22, 2012 in Stockton California. The Valley Air District was proud to take part in the Forum and participate in the dialog.
In the morning the Technology Roadmap was presented including findings and recommendations for California to achieve its air quality and Greenhouse Gas goals. Additionally, representatives from the United States EPA, and California Air Resources Board presented on the policy initiatives that are driving the development and deployment of clean truck technologies.
The afternoon began with a session including experts from the Valley Air District and its counterpart in the Bay Area. Investments, incentives, and additional programs needed to achieve petroleum and emission reduction goals were discussed. The forum concluded with sessions giving stakeholder and fleet perspectives on clean truck technologies, including perspectives from PepsiCo-Frito-Lay, UPS, and the American Trucking Association.
