The Fast Track: Get On Board! |
The Valley is on the Fast Track to clean air. Determined to meet the federal ozone deadline years in advance, the Valley Air District is pursuing a dual-path strategy to reduce emissions and meet federal health standards through traditional District regulation and The Fast Track.
The Fast Track contains three primary components: expedited regulations by the state Air Resources Board and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; significant increases in incentive funding to be used in the Valley; and innovative emission-reduction measures. The strategy is being developed in an open public process. The input of all Valley residents is needed.

The District also has formed a task force including members from environmental organizations, industry and the Governor’s San Joaquin Valley Partnership. Specific action items, timelines and responsibilities are being formalized. District staff meets regularly with the task force to devise and advance new measures for early ozone attainment.
Once again leading the way with pioneering approaches to cleaning up the air, the District invites you to join The Fast Track!
