Is fire inevitable? Why should I worry about it?

Yes, fire is inevitable. Here long before humans, fire is a natural part of the planet's ecology. In fact, the Earth has had the capacity to burn for the last 400 million years. Fueled by an unnatural build up of debris over many years of fire suppression, unplanned, catastrophic wildfires take a terrible toll on our health, safety, and welfare as well as the health of our priceless forests and rangelands, and this is what we should worry about.
