Areawide Emissions Inventory Methodologies
Area-wide sources of pollution are those where the emissions are spread over a wide area,
such as consumer products, fireplaces,
road dust, and farming operations. Of the more than 500
area-wide source categories established by
the California Air Resources Board (CARB), the District is responsible
for estimating emissions from approximately
100 categories. The CARB document
"List of Area-Wide Source Categories and the
Responsible Agency" lists all of the State's
area-wide source
categories and identifies the agency responsible for estimating its emissions.
Below are links to the District's Area Source Methodologies organized by emissions
source categories.
Please note: Not all
categories have methodologies associated
with them at this time. The District
will be
updating all District-responsible area
source methodologies by the end of 2009. If you have any questions concerning the
area source emissions inventory, send an email to HRAModeler.
