Proposed Rules 2260 (Registration Requirements for Equipment Subject to California’s Oil and Gas Regulation) and 3156 (Fees for Equipment Subject to Rule 2260 Registration Requirements for Equipment Subject to California’s Oil and Gas Regulation)

Description

There will be a public workshop to present, discuss, and receive comments on proposed Rules 2260 (Registration Requirements for Equipment Subject to California’s Oil and Gas Regulation) and 3156 (Fees for Equipment Subject to Rule 2260 Registration Requirements for Equipment Subject to California’s Oil and Gas Regulation).

Rules 2260 and 3156 are proposed to allow the District to implement a new California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulation (Greenhouse Gas Emission Standards for Crude Oil and Natural Gas Facilities) intended to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from Crude Oil and Natural Gas facilities. The proposed District rules will create a streamlined registration program that will allow the District to implement and enforce the regulation on behalf of CARB and establish fees to reimburse the District for costs of implementing the regulation if CARB does not fully reimburse the District’s costs.
