Eligible funding categories include heavy-duty on-road vehicles, off-road vehicles, locomotives, marine vessels, electric forklifts, electric airport ground support equipment and stationary agricultural irrigation pump engines.  Except for agricultural engines that pump irrigation water, only self-propelled vehicles are eligible for funding.  All other stationary and "mobile" engines/equipment are ineligible.

The District’s Heavy-Duty Engine Incentive Program offers incentives for the following types of projects:

• On-Road Vehicle Component: (Heavy-duty trucks, transit, and school buses with a gross vehicle weight over 14,000 pounds.)
• Off-Road Vehicle Component: (Off-Road self-propelled vehicles such as tractors, backhoes, excavators, etc.)
• Stationary Agricultural Irrigation Pump Engine Component: (Engines used to power agricultural irrigation pumps)
• Locomotive Component: (Locomotives)
• Marine Vessel Component: (Commercial marine vessels)
• Electric Airport Ground Support Equipment Component: (Air-side electric vehicles)
• Forklift Component: (Forklifts)
• Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Component
  The SJVAPCD has allocated all available funding for Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Component and is not currently accepting applications for this component. Please sign-up on the SJVAPCD's list serve for future updates to the incentive programs.
• School Bus PM Retrofit Component
• School Bus Replacement Document
• Idle Reduction Component: (Heavy-duty on-road and off-road vehicles, locomotives and railroad equipment)
